Forgiveness – Spout with Spouse or Lover

Christel B. D’Agostino, MSW, LCSW-R, CtH

Have you ever had a spout with your spouse or lover over a trivial matter, such as an open toothpaste or a not-closed toilet seat cover? You may have been sliding into this argument, not even have realized what you have been setting yourself up for until suddenly, you have been caught in a seemingly serious conflict. Something in you clicked, told you, you had a choice either to fight it out or to stop it right then.

So what would you do? You know if you were to continue the screaming match, you or your spouse/lover, or you both, would be licking wounds at the end, retreat into silence, slam doors, or run out of the house. Your plans for the day or evening would certainly be ruined.

What decision would you make in this split second? To fight it out or to throw in the towel — not because you have been beaten, but because you have felt deep down in your gut that your partner felt hurt too and that’s not what you had wanted?

How difficult would it be for you to say right then “I didn’t mean to hurt you. I’m sorry”?   It does not even matter who is right, as long as you stop the argument– the sound of your voice needs to convey that you mean what you say. You wait for an answer while you prepare to use your most important  ”tool”,

My CD “Restore the Vibrant You!”  will teach you all about it. Then, it will be much easier to have a healthy relationship.

Meanwhile, it would be good strategy to confess why you got so upset, and learn your partner’s take on it–so you understand each other better and move towards a healthier relationship.

I have decided to postpone the release of my CD “Restore the Vibrant You” . Instead I am going to dedicate all my efforts to  ”Healing PTSD trauma”.  It might be of interest to you too.

Restore the Vibrant You!

Restore the Vibrant You!
Christel B. D’Agostino, MSW, LCSW-R, CtH

Stressed out? Overwhelmed at times? At odds about your priorities?
Putting the things that might make you happier on the back burner because the daily challenges of modern life are consuming too much of your energy and time? You are not alone.Who can be on a high performance level all day long and then still be in top form for a smoothly running household,  your wonderful family or a healthy relationship and a gratifying social life?

We may have already been conditioning ourselves that running through our daily lives is the only way to accomplish what we need to. After having been on an adrenaline rush all day, we may just run out of steam at night. We demand perfection from ourselves and the world around us. If we don’t live up to our high standards, our level of anxiety rises. Maybe, we need to slow down a little. We may be surprised how much we’ll accomplish after we have shifted gears. Let’s start feeling good from the inside out.

Tomorrow we’ll be our chance to practice feeling joyful the whole day long.
Does it sound too hard, too difficult? If ‘yes’ is your answer, then let me invite you to learn what my Universal Vibrational Therapy TM can do for you. A CD will be out soon. Just listening to it once will restore the vibrant you and put you in a much better place. Some people want to listen to it again to sustain the gains.

Just to let you know that this CD will be delayed. My present emphasis is on “Healing PTSD Trauma” on CD.
